"Bluffing" and "Too Wet"

LIB independence was fun!  Didn't teach a lot..... which was sad, but they had good food!  We would try to share something after we ate, but their minds were else where. What they do for their Independence day, is buy new clothes and go walk around "bluffing" or in other words, showing off.  fun right?!(; because of the rain, my Independence clothes were a plastic garbage bag with holes cut out for my head and arms.  DONT WORRY!  I wore it well and was "bluffing" along side them!

I was studying the other day and found out that the eyes are a key indication to see if someone has lost the Spirit or not.  I'm forgetting which apostle it was that was saying this.... The Apostle was speaking to a RM who had gone less Active.  He had met the missionary in his mission when he was serving, so when he came to a conference, this RM who's LA came.  He asked the RM some questions and found out why he has lost that Spirit.  One of the main reasons was he had stopped studying the scriptures all together.  He got reading anti Mormon literature and what not.  It went on to say how important it is to read the Book of Mormon everyday at least for a few verses.  They shared some statistics that the Book of Mormon mentions Jesus Christ or something referring to him in every 1.4 versus.  I forgot where I was going with that..... ha but the point is!  The Eyes are a great indicator of having the Spirit or not!  Also that reading your scriptures everyday at least for a small time, will give you the Spirit.  Schedule in a time to read, and where ever you are, read them on your phone or what not.  Get that scripture study in at a certain time of the day!

One of the miracles Elder Haas and I experienced this week, was about the weather!  With rainy season in full swing, it's more challenging to get to Camp 2 without getting wet.  What we decided to do, was to pray that we could get to camp 2 without getting "TOO WET" or the rain to stop long enough for us to get there.  Well, like we know, God is always listening.  The rain began to stop so we took the opportunity!  Quickly got to the road to call a bike, and then no bike...   We waited for 5 or so minutes, and then prayed that a bike would come.  Both of us then saw the rain approaching from far off.  Uhh..... not what we wanted!  We stood their having the faith that a bike would still come before the rain came.  It started to sprinkle....  Right when the Heavy rain started pounding the road a ways off, a bike came.  Cha- ching!  Another prayer answered!  We left on the bike and we were able to get ahead of the storm!  God answers prayers even if its the last second! :)  We ended up in camp 2 and were not "TOO WET."  As the day went on, we noticed something.  God was still helping us out.  Every time a lesson ended and we got ready to leave, the rain would stop, or lightly sprinkle long enough for us to get to our next appointment.  Even for our bike ride home at the end of the day!  Oh how God is always watching out for us!
Last night as Elder Haas was doing follow ups with Kakata, I went into the extra bedroom and sat on the mattress studying.  The other phone started to ring, but I didn't think anything of it. I then heard Elder Haas get up and answer the phone.  NBD.  20 or so minutes later, I hear him running through the apartment,"Elder Zaugg! Elder Zaugg!" I answered.  He comes running down the hall and then jumps in the door way.  His face was full of excitement and he put his hand in front of his mouth then ran away.  What?!  You can't scream my name through the house then look at me with excitement then run away!  Not cool!  I put on my slippers and ran out the room.  He had the phone in his hand and said,"look at this number."  ooooooohhh..... Utah number!!  I was thinking someone I knew called. haha he then said it was the sister missionaries from temple square calling about a guy we met one time.  He went into saying how pumped he was to talk to his first American woman. :)

Love you!
Elder Zaugg
