Ghana MTC Stay

Last night was the last day for the Elders serving in Liberia so there was only like 14 Elders left. We got fed like kings ever since people started leaving on Sunday! (Elders serving in Sierra Leone flew out on Sunday. Elders serving in the new Liberia Monrovia Mission flew out on the following Wednesday.) We've had ice cream, home made bread, yogurt, and banana bread. It was unreal!! African ice cream is tons better then what they got back in the states. It's way creamy and sweet! Yesterday was a chill day since no one was here. After lunch we just hungout in the teachers lounge having a good talk with each other while the teachers walked around. Later that night after dinner we convinced our teacher to watch the movie Legacy instead of a lesson. He was going to review everything and let us ask questions, but thats what we've done for the past 2 days.
I'll send some pictures of my empty dorm room, but did you guys see how that awesome fan comes into use?  I think it will save my life once I get to the mission field... it gets HOT if you don't have some kind of breeze to go across you.  Elder Erickson and I decided to be companions since ours left and we had no one in our dorms with us, so he came into mine. These last few nights have been way fun just to chill around and write in my journal. By the way, I might need a new journal here soon. I don't want to run out of pages, so in the next package if you could send one with whatever else is in there then that'd be sweet and I'd love you guys forever! (;   I haven't missed a day in my journal so it'll be fun to read once I get home!
I think I will address some of your questions... the smell isn't bad at all. I couldn't tell a difference from America to here. So thats a good thing!! The Africans are easier to understand once you have been around them for awhile, but once they start speaking quick, you're done for. So a usual day in the MTC for me goes a little something like this... Wake up at 6am get ready and go to personal study until 7:15. Then we have a half hour to get ready, like brush your teeth do your hair. Then breakfast at 8 until 8:30. Then you have classes until noon with 5 minute breaks in between. After lunch gets over at 12:30, we go to more classes until 3:15, then we have free time. Then one class until 5 for dinner. Then classes until 9. Then lights out at 10:30. That is a day in the life of Elder Zaugg at the MTC. Sounds fun right? (:  Dallen wrote me an email yesterday and was telling me about his MTC stay! Its cool we both will land in our countries on the same day. And as much as the MTC helps, I'm glad to be dipping out. This place is spiritual, but it is too long to be in a classroom. I made great memories and am glad I don't have to do the MTC again. (Dallen is Garrett's cousin who is serving in the Frankfurt German mission. They both flew out of the MTC on the same day. Dallen was in Provo MTC, and Garrett at the Ghana MTC so they never saw each other physically, but definitely spiritually connected.)
The cookies were way good and my roomates loved them all. We ate them when we didn't eat dinner on some nights. So if at all possible, send some cookies (:
(Garrett took about 3 dozen choc. chip cookies with him when he left. His sister made them for him. He didn't want to starve in the MTC as he adjusted to the food. Good plan!)
I'm going to try and send more pictures now, but I love and miss you all! I know that this church is the true church. Plain and simple. Its such a great feeling to have the Holy Spirit with you throughout your days. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God as a prophet and to translate the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is amazing to study. I love you guys. The next email will be from LIBERIA!! Exciting, we're leaving to Liberia at 9 to get to the airport, but our flight isn't until 1:10. So we'll be just chillin around until then. My bag weighs 84 lbs. so hopefully they let me on the plane. (Luggage restrictions for Liberia is one bag weighing 66lbs.)
