Its so nice being out of the MTC. I feel like I have a little more freedom now! The days are going by so fast though. It feels like I just woke up and then I'm going back to bed already.. crazy how it works... and mother I wear my patches and take my doxy.... stop your worryin (; But instead of you all writing seperate emails, write letters to me andI'll reply to each of you that way. It will be easier for me because pday is crazy and the cafes are packed. Have people write to me rather than email. I'll be able to respond to them actually. It takes so long to write emails! Have the family write through dear elder and it will get here faster. If you write letters I'll be able to tell you guys more stuff. Also send pictures of you guys once in awhile so I know you guys aren't changing to bad (;
Anyway, Liberian people are so friendly! They all act like they know each other. I probably say yello (hello in Liberia) to about everyone that walks past. Its amazing at how friendly and happy they all are. The little kids all remind me of Tay and Brook! We were at a restaurant the other day and two little girls started playing with me and my comp, then when we had to go in, they shoved me up against the wall and wouldn't let me go in... My comp had to bribe them off of me and then they wouldn't let him go in! Haha it took us a good 5 minutes to get rid of them! All the little kids are cute though. They all scream white man! white man! and then want to come touch me. It's funny though, because some of the kids are excited to see me but when I turn and start to walk towards them, their faces go from happy to terrified and they run away crying. Its so funny to run at them and see which ones are really afraid of white people! The parents of some kids will literally pick their child up and carry them over to me while they are kicking and screaming at the top of their lungs! I can't help but laugh everytime!!
The other day we were out teaching and we stopped by at a mans house named J. This man has a pet monkey! Tell brook and tay it is a brown one and that the pink ones are mean and don't like to come out and say hi... But this monkey looked so soft and cuddly until the little kid tried petting it and it almost took his arm off. It scared the little kid pretty bad. while we were teaching him though, My comp was sitting on the bench next to him and the monkey jumped at him trying to bite him. Monkeys are not nice creatures at all...
My first experience at trying to teach someone though happened when we were at the airport and were trying to get through customs. Me and Elder Tolar were talking and one of the guards came up to us talking about how we believed in polygamy still. We started talking to him and asked how many wives he wanted... he wanted 4. haha We had no clue at how to address this man about polygamy. We were just hoping that the line would go faster so that we could dip out of there! Some of the questions investigators ask are mind boggling. I always ask myself how someone comes up with a question like this haha its incredible. Some of them are deep doctrine questions like why people are black and white... My comp knows everything so of course he addressed this question. I'm glad I am able to learn from him, so I will be able to memorize scriptures like he has. So far I have a couple memorized about faith and baptism. This man is good at teaching though.
The other day we were out teaching and the one woman has a baby. You probably could guess where this is going... We started teaching, and I started talking about faith and how we need to make our faith grow and then I looked to the right and boom... My first breast feeding incident. Lets just say, Its Africa!
