First Sacrament Meeting Held In HoHoe, Ghana

Transfers!  Only 2 weeks in my first area. :) But the Lord has different things in mind.  I have now been reassigned to open up an area that the church has never been to before.  Its called HoHoe.  My new companion is Elder Eppich.

 We had our first service yesterday and Elder Eppich was called to be the group leader  and I am his assistant.  We currently have 9-15 members and we worship in our front living room.  You can't tell though, it looks like a church when you walk in.

Everything will be a little choppy in this letter because I got a short time to respond. Elder Eppich and I came up with a genius idea to make a podium out of scrap wood in the house.

Totally was still wet when church was going on, it looks legit though!  It's a cool experience to be apart of this.  Literally this is the first time The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has worshiped here.  It's such a significant event and I'm honored to be apart of it.

Also, with this area, we have bikes!  Talk about being pumped to proselyte. I haven't rode one for a LOOONG time and it makes things so much more interesting!  You should see peoples faces as they see me try to run them off the road.... haha they all just laugh.  Great way to break the ice and contact right?  (;
I'm glad you were able to go to humpherys homcoming and able to see the Kirkhams.  They were awesome and I miss having him as a mission president, but I know that what is going on, is all in the Lords hands.

I am so grateful to be serving a mission at this time. Even though I am no longer in Liberia which I miss... I am still grateful to be serving the Lord.  All of us are trying our best to make Ghana just as memorable, but like you know, its different.   I love the church and am loving every minute of my mission.  The church is true!!!  The gospel truly changes lives and attitudes.  Share it with everyone.  I love the mindset of the sons of Mosiah.  Mosiah 28:3 I believe that's it.  We too, need to have this mind set.  Let the work move forward!  I know  that Thomas S. Monson is guiding us in these last days, and we need to take heed to what he says.  I love you all!

There's a quote we received from our new mission mom,(sister Heid) that I'll put in.  It just makes life better.

"SPIRITUAL THOUGHT (AND THEN TO BED!)Let’s go with Sister Heid’s reference to D&C 101:16“Therefore, let your hearts be comforted concerning Zion, for all flesh is in mine hands; be still and know that I am God.”This might be the most helpful scripture in the history of scriptures!! Do you believe this? Take a moment and substitute the word Zion with a blank. Now fill in the blank with a very personal concern: Parent? Little brother or sister? Friend? Fear about something at home? Investigator? New convert who is struggling? Testimony? Motivation? Worthiness? Health? Hurt feelings? Prideful?Whatever your issue is, turn it over to the One who holds everything in His hands. Turn to the Good Shepherd, little lambs, and know the He is in charge.Let us take heart and be inspired by the Saints in Guinea, Sierra Leon, and Liberia. They remain faithful in the face of extreme adversity, and praise their Creator.We love you, Sisters in Zion and Elders of Israel. Keep on doing good things.Sister and President Heid"

I wasn't able to respond to everything, so don't feel bad!  I loved all your stories!  Thanks again for everything. love you and hope you have a great week!    Love you all!
 Elder Zaugg
