The Philippine Typhoon.... We've heard different things about how all missionaries are safe and how some are missing. So, if you could just clarify that for me, I'd appreciate it.
It's crazy that I'm 1/3 through my mission. In two weeks it'll be 9 months and time just keeps slipping away. Im not complaining at all! I love my mission don't get me wrong, but when you get these small little American things........ makes you realize how blessed we are back home and how nice it will be to have all this stuff at your finger tips! Like cheese for instance. I can't wait until I can cut a slice of cheese, then take a bite out of it. Be thankful for cheese!!!! Mom, I will TRY to save my packages for Christmas....(; Kidding mom... I will keep them until the 25th then open them. Lets just hope the Liberian mail system didn't take any of the Christmas goodies.....
The temple has become a bigger importance to my life ever since coming on mission. The significance of the temple is incredible. If you want to obtain the highest degree of glory, thats the place you need to be sealed. Make the correct choices in life! There is a quote from the Miracle of Forgiveness that I can't remember exactly but it goes something like this, "Dont let the heat of the moment effect your eternal out come." If you want the exact quote, read the book. But Spencer W. Kimball was talking about getting married outside the temple. He made mention that when you date someone who doesn't want the same marriage as you, then you shouldn't continue dating. It will ruin your chance of getting the highest glory. I know what path I want to take in my life, and thats marriage in the temple. I hope my wife right now is preparing herself for the same type of marriage. And mom, you better believe I remember that day at the onion patch when we were talking about how good looking she'd be (; haha (Elder Zaugg and his mom were pulling weeds on the Church Onion Patch for our stake farm. He wanted to quit weeding his row because it was very long. She told him that if he finished the row he was working on, then his future wife would be very beautiful. So instead of just finishing the row he was working on, he did at least four more rows. :)
This week there was a lot that went on, but I dont have time to write it all. I'll choose one story to share and then hopefully next week we'll have more time. But it all began while we were out working with one of our members sister D. She's awesome. She's always wanting to go out with the missionaries and take us to see her people. :) She makes me laugh every time we see her. We were on our way to see our investigator, S..., when a man on the side of the road, stopped us to say hi. We were in a rush, so we couldn’t talk long. After S's... lesson, we went back to where the man was and introduced ourselves, and the church. He was explaining his interest in the church and how he wanted to come visit. At this point, the school for the little kids had just been released, so all the small children were on their way home. They were walking past and saw two Chinese men (us) talking with one of their people, so they stopped. All of them were gathering around in the road so I told them to leave. (It was a lot nicer than that, but I'm giving you the shorter version so it sounds brutal) Well, they didn’t listen… Take note, because when someone tells you to do something and you don’t do it the first time, sometimes the situation can go bad. So just do it the first time you’re asked. Anyway, we kept talking, and then Elder Humpherys told them the same thing except he walked towards them and they all took off running. All of them got away fine, except one small boy who thought he could get away by running into the middle of the road. Instead of getting away from the white man, the little boy got hit by a motor bike coming down the road. It knocked him flat on his face. Everyone went running over to see if he was alright, and surprisingly enough, there was no blood or any cuts. He’ll just be really sore in the morning. A lesson we learn from this... what our parents teach us when we’re younger is true! Look both ways before you cross the street! If you don’t…… then you’ll learn the hard way.
During my studies I find awesome scriptures that I come across and want
to share with you, so I write them in my planner for email day. Only problem
that I face, is that when It comes to email time, I forget what the scripture
was about... awkward..? so..... if the scripture doesn't make sense, I'm sorry.
I would've put a nice little note next to it for clarifying why, but I can't
remember what it says! I hope you enjoy it though.. (:

I love you a ton and can’t wait to hear your voices!

The following pictures are taken from http://berrettsinliberia.blogspot.com/. The Berretts are serving their mission in Liberia. The other day sister Berrett sent Elder Zauggs family an emaill along with this picture. It was so fun to see this picture of Elder Zaugg. Much love to the Berretts for their thoughtfulness and service! Thank you for watching over our missionaries! The captions below are what the Berretts wrote about these pictures.
| The pictures don't adequately show how deep the pot holes are. |

We are so grateful for such faithful, young missionary "warriors" like Elder Zaugg.
