God Is Good All The Time...All The Time God Is Good

HEY HEY HEY !

How was your week??  Hope everything is still going good like the usual.  For me here, things are going great.  Miracles have not ceased in LIB!!  God is watching over his missionaries that's for sure.  I'll get to that in a moment.  Mother you asked a question about what transfer I was on, and I'm pleased to say, we have just started our 7th transfer.  literally.... today is the first day in our planner.  This means we got transfer news last week!!! YAY! Aren't you excited to hear what happened to me?!  dun dun dun (dramatic effects.  trying to make things interesting..?) Me and Elder Humphreys are staying together!  We will be in Doe Community still.  We both shouted and jumped into each others arms when the AP's told us we were still together.  I keep learning from him each day.  Some other transfer news for some other people, is Elder Erickson will be training his 4th son in 6 weeks...  The kid just keeps going. haha  He has had a lot happen in these past 6 weeks to him.  All he wants is to finish someone's training.  If you look at it, he has had a new son almost every 2 weeks in this last transfer....  too much switching around.  Everything happens for a reason though right..?  Also, Elder Bowring is going back to where our lineage began....  BANJOR!!!  He went back to our stomping grounds.  He will love that place.  He'll be training a branch missionary and its actually a white washed area.  This is his second one he's been in now, except this time he'll be the boss man.  He's a great missionary!

Now Candice,  I won't lie.... When you said you got an hour massage on Halloween, I was a little jealous.  I take that back.  It wasn't a little jealous, it was A LOT!  I'll round up as much loose change as I have back home and book a massage for the day after I come home.  And you better believe It'll be an  hour of deep tissue rubbing... and another thing.  You made mention of God is good.  That's funny you say that because when you ride buses here, you'll get a pastor or someone, who will stand up and give a devotional.  And every time before they start, they say, "God is good all the time.  All the time God is good."  The first time I heard it I was taken back/lost because everyone around me was saying it in unison and I had no idea what was going on.  I felt like I needed to join in and say something but I didn't know what to say!  We both just sat there. Liberias awesome (:

And Mom, tell everyone thank you that is helping so much with my mission.  I appreciate everything they are doing for it.  I appreciate them.  I'm thankful that they care enough to do this.  So if you could tell anyone who helps with my mission thank you from me, I would appreciate it.  When you guys email Osayi and Avornu, they love it.  Osayi would always tell me about different things that are happening back home with you guys and I'm like, "What ?! How does this kid know this??"  Then he told me you guys were writing him. haha  They love it so much.  Keep doing it!  Another question, I did not have to pay for the package that came through My Missionary Shipping, the couples got it and then brought it with the rest of the stuff when they came.  Its sweet getting a package that fast!  And fyi, I haven't received any of those letters that you said you sent a long time ago about my buddies on mission and what not.  soooo yeah.  hopefully they will come.  And we do write emails to president every week, but I don't send mine home because they aren't that interesting.  Sorry you have to miss out on that one....  Dad, Have you started taking out those windows on the back??  When I read that, all I thought of was when we did the front windows and the problems we ran into. haha I'm praying that everything goes well but knowing our luck....  it won't go as planned. :) (knock on wood)  Send some photos of how it goes.  If you run into problems take photos of it so I can see.  And you guys can take photos of anything around and send it.  Its cool just to see photos of different things from back home.  Nicole your little ones look cute in their Lalaloopsy costumes.  I have no clue what a Lalaloopsy is, but whatever they are, Brook and Tay make them look cute.  Maybe you could throw a definition my way about what they are? haha I'm guessing some sort of witch? One last thing....  I'm really sorry about this, but whenever I get back to the apartment and start talking with my comp, I remember things that I would like you to send. sorry...? haha  Calcium pills, Gold fish, peanut butter, and then if you could get a new calendar for my next year on mission put together,r so you can send it in January or February.  That is all that I can remember that I thought of last time.  I won't ask for anything for awhile!!  Thank you (:  I love you guys!

Now a miracle from my week.  It happened on Wednesday.  We woke up Wednesday morning and did our usual routine of showering and studies, and then we were having zone meeting today, so we had to leave early for that.  We got ready, then went to the road to catch a bike.  While we're standing there waiting for one to come by, we only see one.  Not to unusual.  So, we wait for ten minutes.  Still, no bike.  That's a little weird....  We decided to walk to the church instead so we wouldn't be late.  As we were walking, we came across a kid from the Logan town branch who we know, and he told us that the government has put a stop to all the motor bikes on the main roads.  WOW...  What a blow to missionary transportation.  This is how every missionary, besides the sisters, get around to their areas, baptisms, and to the mission office.  Taxis get stuck in traffic and are hard to catch because their stuffed full of Liberians.  Normal cars hold 5 people comfortably, and they shove 6 or 7 in there.  A normal van holds 8 people comfortably, and they make them fit upwards around 12-15.  Yeah, I know.  You should see the suspension on some of these vehicles....  Off topic.  We ended up walking to zone meeting.  When zone meeting finished,  we went to the apartment and dropped stuff off, then needed to go to our area.  So, we were back on the road waiting for a car, and nothing.... all of them were completely full.  Well, when nothings going your way, look to God right?  That's exactly what we did.  We both started to pray and by the time our prayer finished we were able to catch a taxi.  When you ask for things that are in line with what God wants, (righteous desires) like getting to your area to proselyte.  He will provide a way for you to get there.  That's not it....  At the end of our day proselyting, we left a little early so we would be able to walk home since we knew we wouldn't be able to catch a cab this late.  We walked all the way to Freeport Junction and then decided to try and catch a cab from there.  It nearly is impossible at this place because its close to Sinkor where everyone is coming from at night going back to their homes.  All the cabs are full like usual.  Not surprising.  Well, we took a leap of faith and did what the bible tells us to do.  Walk by faith not by sight.  That's exactly what we did.  We stayed there and tried to catch a cab going by.  There was so many going by, but I kept looking down the road past all the ones by us, to see if I could spot an empty one.  And guess what, I did.  The windows were down and the only people in the cab was a girl in the back, and the driver.  So, I did the Liberian smooch (a way to get peoples attention over here.  I don't know what else to call it.)  and the driver looked over but didn't stop.  He kept going.  Well that stinks....  Then Elder Humphreys says, "No way!!!" I look up and the taxi was pulling over 100 yards down the road.  Then outside the driver window we see a hand motion us to come over.  I don't think you could find any other missionaries happier then we were at that point.  Everyone was probably laughing watching two white men jump up and down and then go running towards a taxi.  God is watching over us!!  We get the cab and get in.  We start talking to the people and they were really nice.  When we got to Sayon town junction, we asked how much, and the girl in the back said she had paid for the whole thing already so we didn't have to pay.  What...?  This girl bought the whole taxi for herself meaning she didn't want the taxi guy stopping for anyone else.  She told the guy to stop for us though...  I was amazed at how kind she was.  I was so thankful for her.  We didn't have to pay for transportation to get home, it was all free.  Now I can understand fully the saying of the Liberians, "God is good all the time.  All the time God is good."  There is not a more true statement than that.  God really is good all the time.  Remember that as you go about your day and are having a hard time.  pray to God to help you and he'll be there to pick you up.  In James 4:17 it says that he who knows to do good and doeth it not. to him it is a sin.  God use's people to answer prayers, so you need to be aware of what you're doing in your everyday life, so that maybe even you can be an answer to someone else's prayer.  Be ready to help someone.  I love you all and hope you have a great week!

P.S.  We had 22 investigators come to church yesterday.... yup, we're preparing for a lot of baptisms this transfer!
