Hello once again!!!
Seems like Yesterday I was sitting in this Cafe writing to you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANDICE!!!!!! I hope you enjoy your week long birthday, from what dads telling me (; Hope its a good one! I want pictures next week of whatever you guys do for it!! And the Ice fishing trip looked so sick! I haven't done that forever! Was that all you guys caught that day, or was it pretty good?? That's cool you were able to meet with the Berretts! We have been missing them A LOT from over here! They were fun to have in the mission! Do you know anything else about it? We hope they'll be able to come back and serve. Do you think they'll get the chance? We will keep them in our prayers. This week is also transfer news!! That means next week I most likely will be having a new companion.
This will be my last request to be put in the package you're sending out.... I really do feel so demanding every time I email. I feel horrible about it... ha But here goes the list, Hi Chews, Mentos, Goldfish, starburst, and a journal. I'll be starting the second one you sent me last time here shortly so I'll need one on hand just in case I finish this next one.
I don't think there is anything else that I would want/need. Maybe if someone gets a package it'll spark my interest and ill let you know. That's where some of these ideas come from(;
This last week we had some interesting things happen! We were suppose to go on an exchange with the AP's on Wednesday so we had 14 lessons planned.... Guess what happened. They got a call from President Kirkham as we are on our way to the area saying that they need to fix some things and do some stuff at the mission office. Um...... awkward? So, 14 lessons planned with only 7 hours in a day and only 1 companionship.... quite the situation right? Me and Elder Humpherys put our minds together and came up with a genius way of splitting it up and canceling some appointments. It ended up being a great day even though we had curve ball thrown our way. A little side note to what happened at the end of our day, I got pooped on by a Hawk. It threw me for loop because when the wet white stuff hit me, I thought someone had chucked stuff at us. I was looking around and couldn't find anyone! Then, Elder Humpherys says, "Look up..." Now..... out of all places to poop, the Hawk decided that the short White man would be the best thing to poop on. Come on.... At least I can say I've been pooped on by an African Hawk right?
This past week we had a really cool experience while walking to a lesson. The area where we were walking was a place, where during rainy season you cross on planks, that we normally travel every week. Now that dry season has come, some of these planks have been removed and where water normally is, has dried up. It has given us new places to walk! As me and Elder Humpherys, were walking through this area, we were having a conversation about something (don't remember.....) and we were in deep thought. We reached the end of this one set of planks and we stepped off, where its been wet every other day, and started to walk on the opposite side of the planks. This isn't usually where we walk, but we didn't take to much thought on it. We kept walking and having our joyous conversation, when we saw an old man sitting on his bench in front of us. He was sitting right on the path we were walking and as I saw him, I thought to myself,"we should contact him." And like I said, we were in deep conversation, so I brushed the thought off as if it was my conscious. Sometimes it happens, so i figured it was just one of those times I was having. As we walked past, we greeted him, and when we were about 15 feet past the man, I had the same feeling come to me again,"Contact him." This was the second time it had come to me, so I better obey it! I turned to my companion and said, "Should we contact that man?" And both of us just turned around and walked up to him. We introduced ourselves and asked if we could sit down and talk small about our message. So, he let us sit. We opened with a prayer and then started talking about the church. He went into telling us where all of our branches were on Bushrod Island (The place I am serving) and it took us both by surprise. I started thinking,"Whoa. Is this guy a member?" Right when I went to ask the question,"Have you been baptized into the church?" His wife came around and said to another woman,"They know he's a member." then she sat with us. The man went into telling us how he was baptized 5 years ago and he left the church because of some reasons, that weren't even good reasons. We set an appointment with him for us to come back, because we were in a rush to another lesson. But it just goes to show that our Heavenly Father loves all his children and wont let any of them be lost. We all need to take heed to the spirit when it prompts us to do something. Don't let it be twice like I did, but let it be the first time.
The last story for the week, happened as we were going to church. We were standing on the road getting a cab, and like always, we said a little prayer and one stopped for us. The cab was full of people so Elder Erickson and Elder Humpherys got in the front, while Elder Backman and I got in the back. I got in after Elder Backman, so I pulled the door shut, and then while The two up front were still getting in, I reached forward to grab the middle part between both doors to quickly adjust, since there's four people in the back of this thing, when all of us hear the driver,"No! No! No! No! Don't shut the door!" None of this clicked in our heads, until I realized I couldn't pull my hand back into the car. Um..... That's when I realized Elder Erickson had shut the door and it locked. Really awkward right? Whats funny is, Elder Erickson had no clue about whats going on, until the driver told him to open the door. It didn't hurt as bad as you'd think. I only have 4 broken fingers and my nail almost came off on the middle finger, other than that, I'm fine. Alright, I'm kidding(: It really didn't hurt that bad and I don't have any bones broken. I do have a bruised finger though...did I get ya mom? (; Love You!
